Ayn Rand is an ideological mother to the neo-conservative movement. She was a major influence on Alan Greenspan, one of the architects of the 2007 economic meltdown and subsequent corporate bailout. Although ignored by most academic philosophers, she remains popular among libertarians and Tea Party followers.

The following interview was recorded in 1944 at at time when US television shows still contained a degree of thoughtfulness and depth.
