Tests and Quizes

There will be frequent, short quizzes, a longer quiz at the end of each block, a commulative quiz at the end of the year, and finally the CA STAR test.

Short quizzes are intended to check for day-to-day understanding, and to reduce test taking anxiety through frequent practice.

Block quizzes are intended to ensure that each block was effectively taught and understood.

The cummulative quiz measures overall retention of the entire year.

STAR testing is used by the state to measure students against statewide, standardized goals.

During quizzes, absolute silence and independent work is required.
