Woodworking Wishlist

Due to severe and ongoing budget cuts from the federal and state government, the woodworking program is in constant need of volunteer contributions. If you can help with any of the following it will be much appreciated. Please support our contributors.

Tools and Equipment

• Hand planes (all sizes)
• Sharpening stones
• Gauges and chisels (all sizes)
• Wooden mallets
• Sand paper (all grits)
• Carving knives (ideally Flexcut brand)
• Hand drills and drill bits
• Glue pot (for heating hide glue)
• Butcher paper
• Expired vegetable oils for wood finishing, such as grape and olive.

Wood

• Green (fresh cut) wood, in particular Redwood, fruit trees, medium sized stumps, and grape vines.
• Dimensional lumber, all sizes, such as Douglas Fir or Redwood
• Plywood, 1/4" to 3/4" thicknesses (all qualities)
• Traditional carving woods, such as Basswood, Soft Maple, Walnut, Ash, etc.
