Tenth Grade Physics

This is a hands-on block, in which we explore motion and gravity. We’ll the roots, philosophy, assumptions, successes, failures and challenges of the modern scientific worldview as it took shape in the 17th and 18th centuries.

This was a remarkable period in science, when for the first and only time, a few determined individuals successfully challenged the core orthodoxies of established authorities with revolutionary and mathematically-defensible ideas about the nature of “the heavens and earth”. We will study the lives and achievements of several great thinkers, including Galileo Galilei and Isaac Newton.
