Tarter Sauce

Ingredients/Zutaten

1 cup mayonnaise
2 cornichons (French style), or Dill pickles with extra sugar (US style)
1 tbsp capers
1 tsp lemon juice, freshly squeezed
Fresh dill, parsley, and/or taragon, to taste
Pepper, fresh ground
Optional
2 tbsp green or red onion
Dijon mustard

Instructions/Zubereitung

  1. Chop and mix all ingredients.
  2. Adjust to taste.
  3. Chill in refrigerator before serving.
Serving
  1. Spoon into a small serving bowl.
  2. Sprinkle a few bits of roughly chopped dill on top.
  3. Serve with freshly sliced lemon wedges.
Storing
  1. Place in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
